What is the Graduate Diploma of Psychology?

How you’ll study 

  • The Graduate Diploma of Psychology runs across three Teaching Periods per year 
  • Expected study load is between 8–10 hours per week 
  • Set your own study pace by taking one or more units per teaching period.

  • Step 1: Complete an accredited degree like the Graduate Diploma of Psychology, accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC), to begin your journey to registration.
  • Step 2: Do a fourth year of study with our Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Advanced) for another 1.5 years. *Please note: You can apply for provisional registration once you have been accepted into a Master’s or Doctorate program. 
  • Step 3: Get a master’s or Doctorate. Study for another 2 – 4 years (2 years for a master’s, 4 years for a Doctorate or combined master’s/PhD), and get supervised clinical experience at the same time.

 After this, you can register as a general psychologist and start practicing.
